Virginia's Guest Design (Week 3)

Hello Altenew friends! I am happy to share more projects with you! Today's theme is about "Pattern Paper Play". I know we all are pattern paper hoarders to some degree. There are some very special papers that we keep...like...forever...and then we wait...and wait....until the arrival of a very special occasion. Well, I did just that with my Origami paper. They were gifted to me from my Japanese stamping friend Tomo a few years ago.

The Ori Kami set and my Origami paper are a match made in heaven.

you are awesome
I created a textured background with the Studio Calico Chevron stencil and white embossing paste.

I then stamped the butterflies on the Origami paper and cut them out. The sentiment was from Label Love. I cut it into 3 parts as they seem to "flow" better with the design. Next is a wedding card from the same set Ori Kami
congratulations
With some paper-piecing, this card was easy to make! I cut out the tiny flowers from the Origami paper and added them to the "bride's" head, isn't she darling? I also added some blue Origami paper to dress up the groom. He looks much more defined and handsome!

Since weddings are such happy occasions and a major milestone in life, we have to go all out and go for the gold! Thus, I used gold-embossing and gold sequins to complete the design.
However, you don't always have to use Origami paper to make these designs....ANY pattern paper will make your images shine! For example, the next card's pattern paper is from DCWV (Twinkle Glints).
Peace and Strength
Basically, I paper-pieced the crane and used Glossy Accent and melded it into a metal-like piece. A small silver string and sequin were all that was needed to finish this design. I think this makes a great masculine card!

Lastly, I used Basic Grey's Fresh Cut and assembled the Magnolias for Her and made a little hexagon card.

thank you

The easiest way is to stamp a few Magnolia on assorted paper and cut them out. After that, I assembled one petal at a time! It's really fun and relaxing. I think it's a perfect thing to do while you catch up on your favorite TV shows!

I hope these cards help you get started on some ideas and get creative. It has been a great joy to share my Altenew projects with you here. I will be back for next week's (final) installment! Thanks so much for stopping by!

Edited: Origami paper can also be purchased from your nearby Michael's.
