Designer Spot: Iwona Palamountain

Hello, I'm super happy to be back today! Are you one of the card makers that has trouble stopping at one layer and embrace the simplicity? I am! It's rarely enough for me to stop and I keep going until I'm happy with the results. Unfortunately I usually end up with one or more bulky elements on the card. So, I challenged myself to creating with the sets I had on hand, a couple of mailing-friendly cards with matching stamped envelopes to boot. One-layer, people!!

I limited my supplies to black Memento ink, Copics for colour when needed, and glitter glue. This first set is the simplest approach, I used Faux Veneer along with Label Love and scattered the elements freely on the card front. Then I applied a fine layer of glitter over the veneer shapes.

Here I used the butterflies and sentiment from Ori Kami, added colour with Copic markers, glitter to all darker shades in the critters, and I drew a frame around the sentiment with a black gel pen.

On the envelope the butterflies have been arranged in a flowing line and coloured with corresponding Copics, only I left out the glitter. I didn't add glitter to any of the envies shown here, another attempt at not overdoing :)

On the third set, I stamped a bunch of fish from Ori Kami, all but one in the same direction. The odd one was coloured in, glittered and connected with a black pen to a banner from Label Love. Love the message this card carries and how the scene reflects it!

Finally, the hearts from Faux Veneer with accompanying sentiment, were stamped uniformly and coloured in using bright colours (I left about a half uncoloured). The envelope carries that same design along the bottom.
