I love this die, especially cut in gold. It makes a fabulous shaker card.

Quality and Versatility

This is a versatile die, you can use it for different looks, like a celestial sun, frame, or a halo, etc. I'm really enjoying this die and, of course. Its well made as you would expect from Altenew.

Mid century die

There has only been time to make one card so far. I adhered the copper foil to card stock and then die cut it. It is very delicate but has a lot of impact. I wanted to maintain the mid century feel to the card. I can envision many uses for this die.

Striking and different

This spiky die is well-named, Mid-Century Frame. It cuts well, with a little assistance at one spot on the radius. So far, I've used 80# Neenah card stock, 65# cardstock (unknown brand) and a nice weight, gold foil cardstock. The 80# Neenah required a lightweight shim added to the cutting sandwich and a scissor snip after the die cut was removed from the die. At this weight, I would want to layer two cuts together, for dimension. The 65# card stock cut the cleanest, but then had to be layered which required some very careful alignment and some tedious gluing, due to the detailed nature of the die. The gold foil die cut is beautiful and perhaps eye-catching enough that I won't have to layer it. I have not tried 110# card stock, I rarely use that weight for die-cutting. I have not tried using the negative of the cut for the card front, but it may work the best.
