Designer's Tips: Remove the stamen (also known as threads) layer and substitute with three strands of red embroidery floss. This will result in an even more realistic effect!

Try ink blending white cardstock before you die cut, varying the depth and tone. Once the elements are cut, you can further enhance the colors by deepening the center of each petal with additional ink blending.

This is a wonderful die set. I really appreciate the veining which appears on the petals and leaves as that detail adds so much interest to the appearance of the assembled die cuts. And while I love complex and lush floral arrangements, I equally love Altenew's Saffron set because it's just the opposite: clean and simple. A realistic flower when using traditional colors, and no less lovely when created in other colorways!
