Brilliant Waves Background Stencil

I bought this stencil solely because I was so knocked out by designer Nathalie DeSousa's layouts on both Altenew's product and blog post inspiration pages. One stencil to create both waves and sand dunes! And the depth and texture which she achieved with simple ink and distressing techniques! I'm a die cut person but had to give these looks a try. Lots of tries before I was able to achieve results anything like hers. (laughter) I truly enjoyed my efforts, however, and isn't that what it's all about? (I learned along the way that creating a lake with rolling green hills in the background is also lovely.) So pleased with this purchase! PS I did handle the stencil gently when using pastes as it's a bit delicate in the areas where the lines are closest together.

I love seeing all the different backgrounds created with this beautiful stencil. I like that it can be played with to create unique scenes…all water in the “wavy” foreground and the rest becoming “sandy.” What a great look. Well done.
