Focus: Geometric Menagerie
Hello! Today we are shining the spotlight on the Geometric Menagerie stamp set:
Design Inspiration: Faceted motifs
Creative Ideas:
On this card, I mixed the lion from the set with some hand-sketched details for a unique look. The banner and border around the card were drawn in with gel pens, and the images were embossed in white. To incorporate some of the geometric angles in the lion, I stamped a cluster of triangles from our Simple Shapes set.
This fun sentiment was paired with the giraffe (colored in with Copic markers) and tones of pink and red to create a love card. This would be perfect for Valentine's Day! The layer behind the front panel was embossed with a wood grain embossing folder, and the card is finished off with a little heart covered in glossy accents.
This card cracks me up! The punny sentiment paired with the bear image are just too cute. The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of adhesive chipboard (on clearance at Michael's!), and I colored the bear with three shades of green for a fun color gradient. I wanted to incorporate one more color, so I was excited to find a piece of paper in my stash that had a pink gradient, and a little bit of minty green!
For this card, I did some free-form watercoloring to serve as a background behind the lion. I love how blended watercolor looks with stark black and white, so I added a strip of striped cardstock along the edge. I really liked all of the white space, so I kept the rest of the card empty, with the exception of a few watercolor splatters.
Tasnim also splattered on her card, but then pieced the bear image with some metal sheets. I think this detail looks incredible! We recently did a blog hop with Add a Little Dazzle, and Tasnim used their sheets in the following colors: Precious Pearl, Perfect Peacock, and Midnight Blue. A few strips of shimmery paper finish off the card!
I hope you share what you create with Geometric Menagerie. Don't forget to upload your projects to our Flickr group!
