Focus: Persian Motifs

Hello!

Before I introduce today's focus, I want to mention that we have decided to extend the commenting on the Altenew/Add a Little Dazzle blog hop to Wednesday August 20th. The winner will be announced the following day on Thursday August 21st.

Today's focus is on Persian Motifs. Lately this set has gained a lot of attention, specially after Jennifer Mcguire shared her incredible card/video using this set. If you haven't seen it yet, click here to check it out.

Name Origin: The floral designs in this set were inspired from Persian Ceramic art, and thus the name "Persian Motifs" was chosen accordingly.

Besides being great for coloring, the outline images in the Persian Motifs set works equally well simply stamped as is. In this card, I first created a colorful background using distress inks and a wide tip brush. I stamped one of the motifs on white card stock, trimmed, and adhered over the fun color blocks. The sentiment is from our Label Love set.
As I mentioned earlier, these images are great for coloring. Here I stamped the Motifs using Memento ink, then colored them using Copic markers. The colors I used are: RV25, RV29 and Y26. The sentiment is from our Sentiments & Quotes set.
Unless this is your first visit here, you may already know how much I love Black and gold combination. I went bold with this card, and used a black card base. The Motifs were embossed on shimmery Gold card stock using Ranger's Roman Gold embossing powder (it contains glitter), and trimmed. As you can see in the photo above, I used two layers for each Motif. Most of the parts are glued together except in three places, where I used foam tape to give an interesting dimension. The blue streaks are liquid pear, and the sentiment was embossed using blue embossing powder.
I quite liked the look of the white outline Motif against the water color background in my first card, so I had to give it another try. Here I first embossed the Motifs in white on water color paper. Then using Peerless water colors, I blended three colors in a circular area. Once it was dry, I adhere the trimmed Motif, and a sentiment strip.
Last but not least, we have another card showing you how gorgeous these Motifs look when colored with Copic markers. The colors used here are:  YG25, G02, and B14. In order to match, the sentiment strip was colored with the same green marker as used for the stems and leaves.
I hope you you were inspired by today's projects. We would love to see more ways of using this stamp set, so make sure to upload your projects to our flick gallery :)
