Focus: Shadow Play
Good morning! Today's focus will be all about Shadow Play.
Design Inspiration: Summertime, sunshine, shadows
Creative Ideas:
This card showcases the tree with its coordinating shadow- both were fussy cut and adhered to the card with foam tape for extra dimension. The sentiment, from Ori Kami, was stamped onto a strip of white cardstock cut at an angle- this creates a bit more interest.
Here, a piece of patterned paper serves as the source of light for a sweet bird and the word "sunshine." The shadows were stamped in a light grey ink to keep the card nice and bright!
This is another card with the focus on the sentiment. The word "sunshine" was curved onto an acrylic block and stamped onto watercolor paper. Next, the banner was hand drawn and carefully cut out. Other hand drawn details were included to tie everything together- a heart on the cork embellishment, and the border around the outer edge of the card base.
This one was inspired by Torico's amazing card. I love how she stamped circles behind an outline image, and the colors seemed so fresh and fun! Here, my circles were stamped using the back of the sun outline in the Shadow Play set, but any of the shapes from Simple Shapes would work too!
This last card shows how you can take any image in a stamp set and create a fun background! The bicycles were stamped in different directions onto white cardstock, then colored with Copic markers. The sentiment (from Super Script 2) was stamped in black and cut out. It would look too busy if it was adhered directly to the bicycle pattern, so a strip of green cardstock (colored with marker) and vellum were added behind it.
Thanks so much for stopping by, and we can't wait to see what you create with Shadow Play! Don't forget to link your creations up in our Flickr group...you might just get featured here on the blog! :)
