Guest Designer: Debby Hughes
Hi it's Debby here popping in with a little guest post today :D As soon as I saw the Persian Motifs set I know it would be one of my all time favourites; I love the fine lines of the beautiful images but there is also enough space to have some colouring fun too. I often white heat emboss flower images as I think the white gives that lovely soft ethereal look. So for my card I stamped a variety of the images from the set in Versamark on Bazzill vellum and then heat embossed with Hero Arts white powder. Then I flipped the panel over and Copic coloured the back of the images which is easier than trying to avoid colouring the white embossed lines on the front. When colouring on vellum you need to choose darker colours than you actually want to achieve. I don't know what it is about the nature of vellum but everything is always more muted on it.
I coloured with two shades of green and two of a plum/red colour using the darker colour of each to add shading and dimension and then blending with the lighter colour. The vellum is die cut with a Frame die from Simon Says Stamp and I used the larger frame from the same set to cut a panel of Fog card. I dug out my sewing machine to stitch the two panels together and then foam mounted on a Neenah solar white card. To embellish there's a sprinkling of rhinestones and pearls and then to finish off a die cut Congrats sentiment cut from white card coloured with the darkest plum Copic marker.
