Focus: Sketchy Cities America
Hey there, everyone! Today we are featuring our Sketchy Cities America stamp set!
Design Inspiration: Boston, Manhattan, skyscrapers
Creative Ideas:
I wanted to show a somewhat unconventional way to use the images in this set, so I stamped Boston onto white cardstock, then die cut circles from it. I colored them in with Copic markers (please excuse the bit of smudging....I neglected to let the ink thoroughly dry!), then adhered them to my card base at varied levels using foam tape. The black stripes are strips of cardstock, and the finishing touches include a sentiment and a white enamel dot. I didn't feel as though my card was properly balanced, so I sliced about an inch off of the side- it worked like a charm!
I actually created this card from a formerly rejected watercolor experiment. Last week, I painted the edge of some watercolor paper using shades of blue, green, and yellow, and it wasn't quite working for my project. So I set it aside on my craft desk, where it stayed until I was able to give it new life last night through this card! I simply stamped the New York skyline over the watercoloring, and mounted it to a black card base. The sentiment is from Label Love, and I adhered it to the card with foam tape. I love how these two stamp sets look together!
This card is loaded with dimension! It's actually so thick that I think It won't even fit in a standard envelope! I stamped the New York skyline onto blue, teal, and green cardstock, then selectively cut out different sections. They were adhered together with foam tape- I love how each layer stands out! The sentiment (from Super Script) is embossed in white.
Tasnim wanted to keep things simple to let the skyline image shine- she started by stamping the New York skyline onto white cardstock in black ink. Then, she jazzed things up with gold splatter- I love how elegant, yet edgy it looks! It's a cool contrast :) Finally, the sentiment was embossed in white onto a lovely shimmery gold vellum. Gorgeous!
Thank you so much for stopping by, and we can't wait to see what you create with Sketchy Cities America!
